Traffic is to be diverted via Ovingham Road and Horsley Road, Ovingham.  HGV's are to be diverted via Gateshead as Gentoo recognise that Horsley Road is unsuitable for heavy vehicles.  During the closure access will be maintained for pedestrians and cyclists.  The closure will be sited so that Bluebell Lane cannot be used as a rat-run.  Gentoo is liaising with providers of school and public transport. Further updates will follow as information becomes available.

Dogs in Ovingham have suffered seizures and two have died after getting into something (not yet specified) on the riverbank at Ovingham.
