On Monday 9th April Gateshead Council will begin geotechnical work to widen the highway on the bend between Bradley Mill Riding Centre and Castle Hill Farm Cottages, providing a verge, re-grading the cutting and reinforcing the slope. The footway past the works will remain open for pedestrian use. Because of the nature of the work being undertaken it will not be feasible to allow the Emergency vehicles through the roadworks for the duration of the closure.

Advanced signing has been placed on Station Road, Wylam and Crawcrook Lane to advise motorists of the closure.

Tynedale Links 686 bus route: it has been agreed between Gateshead Council and Go Northeast that an additional bus will operate between Prudhoe and Crawcrook. The existing 686 bus service will operate between Wylam and Hexham.

Gentoo Homes has notified the Parish Council that Church Road will be partially closed from 8am on Tuesday 3rd April until around 6pm on Sunday 8th April. This is to allow for underground drainage work to be completed. Gentoo hopes to complete the work well within the period of the road closure, weather and ground conditions permitting.
Traffic flow will be managed via a one-lane closure with traffic lights in place.

Volunteers meet at the Country Park Car Park (behind the War Memorial) at 10am.  Litter pickers, gloves and refuse sacks will be provided.  Please come along for an hour or so and help make Wylam tidy for Spring.
