A Statement by Wylam Parish Council concerning land slippage affecting an area of riverside land south of Wylam Nurseries and east of Stephenson Terrace

At its meeting on 12th June 2021 the Parish Council received a petition containing 438 signatures asking that the Parish Council ‘Stabilise the riverbank threatening two houses and the existence of Tom and Joe’s Nursery’.  Reference was also made to the online petition to Northumberland County Council (NCC) on the same issue, with 441 signatures.

The Chairman gave an assurance that the Parish Council did take this matter very seriously and would continue to work collaboratively with all parties towards a resolution of this issue.

Discussions between all parties are ongoing and arrangements have been made for a joint meeting to discuss the situation.
